Great job with this video. David Sanborn has been a big part of the soundtrack of my life and this is such a good collection of his signature tunes. I totally enjoyed every minute of it. BTW, does anybody know who the bassist on the Chicago song clip is? Funny how different the body language was in those days...This guy was really moving and not missing as beat LOL Was that Tom Barney?

Lyle Mays was always available to be possessed by higher energies.

David was my favorite Sax player. I saw him every chance I got (33 times!) His playing was amazing. I came to recognize his style even if I did not know the song before, just so distinctive! RIP David!

Lyle was a musical genius. I can’t believe he’s gone. I remember being taken to the Secret Story concert for the first time experiencing the Lyle Mays and the Pat Metheny group. I changed my life forever and I’m grateful to have seen him throughout the years. He truly is missed. I hope to see him again

His career was kickstarted bigtime by playing with the legendary Paul Butterfield Blues Band at Woodstock in 1969.

Thank you for compiling this. I continue to mourn his loss - met him 2 years back and he patiently stood there and listened to me for 10 minutes to just go on and on about how his music has impacted my soul. He was gracious, and affectionate towards his fans. I got a picture with him and he signed my Double Vision CD - one of the best days of my life. I had no idea he was so ill - his wife Alice was also very nice to me and is a great vocalist herself.

I was today years old when I learned about Lyle Mays from an interview with Jonah Nillson from Dirty Loops and I wish I wish I knew about him sooner. Just amazing!!! I grew up listening to Michel Camilo and this has the same vibe.

This is beautiful and the tenor player kills it. His whole solo is great on its own but also as a contrast to Miles. Love when the rhythm section opens up and gives him a ton of space. Miles playing some crazy chords behind him at the beginning.
